How to deal with the issue of addiction, related together to alcohol, drugs, marijuana and telephone, on COLAS construction sites when rules, uses and cultures are so different from one country to another?
We chose to focus on the only truth, the common truth told by doctors and experts: the truth of the effects generated by addictions, and the consequences on the sites. We wanted an impacting video, engaging and informing about several essential and physiological facts. We wanted as well a fair film, striking durably trough emotion.
The video was to start the Safety Week organized on all COLAS sites (during the week of June 25, 2018). The year’s edition was focusing on addictions on construction sites. The video was the inaugural element of a communication and awareness process about risks related to addictions on construction sites, displayed during the whole week.
In the morning at the briefing, on a COLAS site. The workers are grumbling in the Algeco’s lockers the day is starting with a prevention talk about the risks of addiction. It’s April and, for the guys, there is really no reason at all to stay indoors. They laugh, they grumble and one can feel the chemistry between them. There is a good team spirit, laughter, connivance. At this very moment, the expert choose to break this friendly mood...
This film is a realistic fictional drama, showing an awareness session by an expert addictologist, as a « mise en abime » of the coming Safety Week for COLAS workers.
